Cropped vs Uncropped ?

Both versions are OK, It depends on what you want to depict. The uncropped shows the equipment in relation to what's around it, and how it's size corresponds. The cropped adds more impact to the equipment itself. I personally like the cropped, but it's really what you want the image to say.

The cropped version has more impact. For this picture, the scale, as indicated by the road, is unimportant.

The second one has more character, putting the irrigation devise is its setting.
