I have seen these being used by a few different YouTubers/ Photo channels and thought I'd give them a try. Just finished applying the set to my R5 (still have the set for my RF 24-105 to do). The come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. This is their custom Green Metallic.

So far I like the looks of these kinds but time will tell how well they hold up. Hopefully these skins will add a little protection against every day nicks and scrapes.

Without doing a search, I didn't know what you were taking about.

"It's easier than it looks." I would hope so!

No Simpsons design?

If I did it...and I have thought about it...I'd assume I am never selling the unit.

I mean...for the same reason in reverse...I wouldn't buy a used lens or body with a skin on it...hiding something.

But it is interesting.

Not sure why you say you'd assume you're never selling it. In point of fact, the skins will protect the camera from nicks and scratches and the best part is, if you sell the camera the skins can be easily removed and it leaves no residue. So in the long run, you sell a camera that has fewer blemishes.

It took me about an hour to apply all the bits. It's not technically hard at all, but you just need to take your time.

I just mean if someone wanted to sell me a skinned body or lens...I'm going to assume the skin has been placed there to 'cover' scratches already made.

Perception works both ways.

So I would not do it to my own gear unless I knew I was never going to sell it...give away perhaps.

Well, you could always just ask them to remove the skin before you buy so you can see the condition of the body.

I put the skins on my R5 not to cover any scratches (there aren't any), but rather to prevent scratches. So, in the event I decide to sell it (for R5 Mark ii maybe), I can remove the skins and the body underneath will be in much better condition than if I had not had the skins. The skins are very easy to remove, so no reason you couldn't put them on and remove them if you wanted to sell the camera later.

Yeah...no one is going to do that.

Like I said..it looks interesting... a lot of different skins.

Got a skin for my Z6ii in Urban Camo. Worked like a charm and when I decided to sell it, I removed the skin and it looked like new. Took about 10 minutes to remove and I got top dollar for an "as new" camera.

Exactly why I put the skins on mine. Besides the fact it looks cool, I want to keep the camera is top physical condition for the day I eventually sell it and figured this would help.

I've had my D750 since 2016, and with a little rubdown, I bet it would look like new. If someone gave me that vinyl, I'd use it, but it's not important enough for me to buy it. On the other hand, if they had some "wild and crazy" designs, I might be tempted. They have one crazy design, but that doesn't appeal to me.

You didn't like the Z6 II? So far, mine is fine.

Just for grins, here is my 24-105 RF lens also with the same skin.

One word of caution if you decide to try these skins: Do not work on something like newspaper! Use something like a pillow case or plastic sheet, or a clean hard surface - something the sticky part of the skin won’t stick too if it accidentally comes in contact, or if it does stick it will be easy to remove. How do I know?

I started out working with a newspaper under the lens and accidentally let a piece of the skin touch the paper. When I pulled it off, a chunk of the paper came with it. I had to use a single edge blade and gently scrape off the paper from the sticky side. It worked out ok, but it was a real pain. Lesson learned.

Thaz the intended SOP. Canis is just a contrarian by avocation. Sometimes hes entertaining, and sometimes not. When an argument is too far out on a limb, as with today, it sadly falls flat on its face.
