You are actually not kidding are you - $100. I can only advise used. Yes, try eBay. That is were I have bought lots of equipment. Less selection but less risk, KEH.

Assumed Used, yes. Some photographers have old equipment sitting around that they never use—-thought it was worth a try to check here first.

I have a cheap Dolica tripod made of light aluminum that I bought several years ago for $45. It has served me well in my travels.
If you are using a mirrorless camera the tripod will give you an excellent service. If using a dSLR body and the lens is not that heavy it will serve you well also using good tripod techniques. I have used my Nikon D7000 with the 18-200 VR lens with this tripod without issues.
B&H carries Dolica tripods.

I have a Me Photo Back Packer Air that has never been used. Look it up on Amazon and see the specs. Watch the video. Mine does not have the remote but does have the cell phone attachment. It only weighs 2# and is small enough to carry in any luggage. The one on Amazon is 103.00. I will sell mine for 40.00 + 15.00 for shipping and PP fees which is the way I prefer to do business. The one I have is a dark lime green. If interested I will send photos but they will look no different than what you see on the Amazon site since it has never been used and there are no wear marks on it. It comes in a bag that has a pocket inside to hold the cell phone attachment.
