Wise words from the lady I had as my supervisor as a young nurse. I have continued a close relationship with her during my career. She has always provided the example that I strive for.
If you want to be strong, be patient, thoughtful and understanding. Anyone can be rude, but it takes real strength to be kind and polite.
👣If you want to be strong, be persistent. Enduring strength does not come in an instant, but is steadily built over time.
👣If you want to be strong, get in the habit of taking action. The strongest people are those who act while others only talk or wish.
👣If you want to be strong, be humble. Put your focus on doing, rather than worrying about getting credit.
👣If you want to be strong, be joyful. When you enjoy what you're doing, you are far more effective.
👣If you want to be strong, be yourself. The real strength you have is in the authentic person you are.
Today, be Strong and be blessed.👣

Thank you for sharing. Yes the older ones have the knowledge and experience we can learn from. You were and still are blessed to have her in your life.
Bruce.
My Dad would have liked those, Samantha. He had one more. "There is no such thing as work. It's all play." To explain that further, my Dad enjoyed any kind of work, from manual labor to coaching and teaching and influencing others.
Good thoughts, Sam! Holding back is so much harder than striking out.
Wonderful words to live by. Thanks for sharing them, Sam.

Good words to live by! I'm 72 and still remember a few sayings by older people from my youth. When I played in a high school band we had a gentleman as a director that was very good. He would sometimes leave the band room to retreat to his office (under the excuse of doing some arrangements -- actually he didn't want to hear all the squeaking and flat notes we were making). When he left the room he would admonish us with this: A person's true worth is shown in what they do when the boss's back is turned". Before a performance he would tell us "the proof of the pudding is the eating there of". I also remember when at 18 I was sitting across the desk from Mr. Cooksey at Service Merchandise interviewing for my first real full-time job back in 1968 -- he asked me if I really wanted to get into retail as a job. He explained the only job more demanding of someone's time was being a farmer. I spent 11 years with the company before burning out and going into warehousing and distribution. No more open-close, open-close and working holidays and extra days and hours from Thanksgiving to Christmas!
Thanks Samantha! Wisdom!!
