Lol. That's because on the big prizes they don't pay out anything basically. If you take the 20 year payout you are getting the interest on the original winning amount. If you take the cash after taxes which they keep also you are getting less than the amount of tickets sold. It's a racket and a great one. For the government. Lol

The lotto is basically a regressive tax on the lower class.
