The Olympus 60mm can go to 1:1 using an EM1ii. And the Epson V600 scanner can scan as high as 4800 dpi. This is a comparison of a small leaf that is about the size of a quarter. For the macro lens, I used a LED light mounted above it and for the Epson Scanner, it provided its own lighting during the scan.
First image is the 60mm macro lens. I did work on the image to make it a little better/
Second image is the V600 scanner. Scanner is set to do 3200 dpi and I had to crop it to sort of match the 60mm macro image. AQnd I worked on this image too to make it the best it could be.
My thoughts on this is that the 60mm macro lens did a better job than the scanner. The detail is better and the color is better. And I like the lighting better.
But once before I tried this, and this time with an insect. And the scanner had a better depth of field, although this is easy to rectify with the 60mm lens using focus bracketing.

No surprise thereā¦ I use a 30mm Lumix macro to copy prints, slides and negatives. This setup replaced a V600.
