It is amazing what kind of story a single photograph can tell.
By the looks of the expressions on these peoples faces, it looks more like a gathering right after a funeral at some one's home (without hors d'oeuvres) than the Christmas party they were at. If I had clicked the shutter just a second before or after this shot, a totally different story would be told. In those moments, I would have caught these people smiling and laughing. Oops!

No i phones there , no body staring at there phones , that is a improvement .
Maybe they were trying to figure out the California girls joke in the other thread.

There's always the "Post-Funeral-Meal" niche that might prove lucrative for you, but only if this keeps happening
😥😥😥😥😥 (The guy on the left is laughing - but he was cut off) I taught adults for 31 years, and the same thing would occur: everybody laughing and paying attention, then a minute later all checking their watches 😫😫😫
