I would be grateful for names of companies who do a good job creating and maintaining web sites for photographers, helping with marketing and even with processing orders placed on the site. I would also request names of companies to avoid. Has anyone heard of Art Storefronts? If so, please share your experience with them. Thank you very much.

Try smugmug for your own website with e commerce facility. There are others eg zen folio. You can set your own prices and have many options for prints, wall art, canvas etc.

Art Storefronts claims to be wonderful. They are also expensive! I do Fine Art America. It's only $30/year and is easy to use. The problem with it is that there are literally millions of people on it, so being found can be hard. If you pay the $30/year, you get your own private URL, and that helps. Whatever platform you use, you have to market yourself heavily to be found.

You cannot and will not make a living doing that. The venue is way way over saturated. If your not great, you will not make it.

Marketing I everything no matter who or what you use. There are just too many of use making great photos.

I would say marketing yourself on a local basis like a personal gallery might be a direction to try.
