I have found my EF and EF-S lenses work much better on the R7 and expect it would be the same with the other R cameras.
Get the control ring adapter. Well worth the extra.

I don't have the EF--Eos-RF adaptor but I'm thinking about buying on. Reason is the Sigma 150-600mm lens or maybe some of the Canon EF lenses like the 300mm f/4.

I have both of those lenses also and just ordered an R5. Duade Paton did a review of the Sigma 150-600 on the R-series cameras and found it had an annoying problem of AF "pulsing." After that video, one of his subscribers had done a bunch of testing and determined both lens and camera settings that seemed to, if not eliminate the issue, at least make it much better. Duade did a second video that tests those settings. Thought you might be interested.

No I have not used Radiant Images, but I do have Luminar Nero (and Luminar 4 and Luminar AI) and slightly have the suite of Topaz software (Denoise, Sharpen and Gigapixel).

I'm not using any lenses on my R5 yet - it hasn't been delivered yet (scheduled for this coming Wednesday) But when I do get it, it will come with one RF lens, the 24-105 f/4 L. I also have several EF lenses (Rokinon 14mm prime, Canon EF lenses: 50mm f/1.4, 135mm f/2, 300mm f/4, 70-200 f/4, 24-105 f/4. Also a Sigma 150-600.
They should all work fine with the adapter I bought already.

I love this camera, of course I loved my 5D MK III as well. I use my EF lenses with the Control Ring Adapter ( I bought it for 125.00 ) from a lady that never used it. I did buy the RF 100-400, its a nice lenses for birds around the house and if your walking around in the park. RF lenses are not in my future as I am 77 years old do this as a hobby.
I am now thinking about doing my own matting and framing. Anyway, good luck with the new camera, you are going to love it as well.

Knowing that eventually I was going to crack and get some type of R-body camera, I took preemptive steps and purchased the adaptor from a friend several weeks ago. My friend Dave had decided to go all out with the RF system so he sold all his EF lenses and didn't need the adaptor any longer (which he said he only used a couple of times). He sold it to me for just $50.
Speaking of matting and framing - I've actually been having the same thoughts! Great minds....

Thanks for the video on Sigma 150-600mm lens. Right now I'm all RF lenses and I I buy the 600mm or 800mm I think I will stay RF lenses. I have the RF 70-200f/4 and really don't need the 150 mm range. The RF70-200mm f/4 lens is really good to me. I don't want 10 lenses laying around and only use two of them. I only want the ones I'm going to use. It's nice to brag about all those lenses but if they are only collecting dust what good are they.

But, it helps that the mirror is removed too.

Removed? Aha! I know now they made the camera with mirror then removed it.

Thanks for your comments. I think I might buy the RF 600 if any less money than the Sigma and it's a prime lens. I found some used ones out there. Maybe get a 1.4 extender for that. I wish I could use the extender for my RF 70-200mm f/4 but it will not work on it.

I don't have an EF adapter yet. From what I hear it works good.

It actually works amazing.
My EF lenses work better than ever and the control ring is well worth the extra money as it adds new capabilities to the EF lenses making them similar to RF lenses with their built in control rings.

Thanks for your info I will consider that. I might just stay with RF lenses if I can.

Anybody using the ST-E10 flash controller yet? I think I'm getting one for Christmas. Bring to find out how you like it and if it works good with more than one flash.
