I did not put this in the birds subcategory because the subject here is the boats, not the birds.

Back home in Panama after three weeks visiting family in Utah. I did not even take my camera because I know how boring Utah is in November/December.

Disclaimer: I was goofing around the other day, shooting almost straight down from my balcony 27 floors up. I was using a 400mm focal length in fading light, hand held, so I pushed the ISO to 3200 to get a 1/1600 sec exposure. Lots of grain here, much of which I was able to minimize in post. I also wish I had zoomed back to about 375mm so the egret would not be so near the edge.

These fishing boats are anchored differently every day and the egrets are not always around. There are also hundreds of pelicans roosting in trees nearby, but they usually fly over a nearly highway to open water to dive for fish. A shallow inlet like this is not their thing.

I like the concept and will watch for the opportunity to appear again.
