Good old Chrome has moved accessing bookmarks from one click to two dropdown menues and three clicks. Maybe it is time to move to Edge. I will miss the clean Chrome page, and would have to put up with the cluttered Edge page however. Also, I notice that Chrome spell check has disappered as well. Your thoughts please

Sounds like you're viewing the bookmark manager. My bookmarks work exactly as always. Go to the 3 vertical dots on right-hand side and click on bookmarks to see what's what.

For spell check, use the same 3 dots and click settings. Then click languages. Below preferred language should be a box for spell check.

This is my Chrome version: 108.0.5359.98 (Official Build) (arm64)

The Chrome Help Center (via those same 3 dots):

When I click on bookmark manager there are many choces and folders some which older bookmarke appear . One say imports, then bookmark bar and my makrs do come up. Previousy all I had to do was click on a tiny chevron type icon and they would all come up. These changes happeded about a week ago.

When you first click the 3 dots and scroll to, then click on, "bookmarks," do you see a checkmark to the left of "show bookmarks bar?" The only chevron I can think of is when you have too many bookmarks to fit the screen's width. Clicking the chevron then shows the rest from bookmarks bar. There is also an option to have "other bookmarks" link show at the end of the bar.

My Chrome is the most up to date version. Click the Help link I provided to see if that, um, helps

Another thought: your older bookmarks may have "appeared" because you opened Chrome on a new and/or different device from one you had been using regularly previously and the two synched. That happened to me not long ago.

I called my HP "Smart Friend" service and he noted that there was a folder up in the bookmarks bar which, when clicked on, opened up my list of bookmarks. Simple but different from before, when I could just use the chevron Icon as I always had many more than would fit across the screen. Thank you for your help, I can always count on someone from UHH to come to my assistance for stupid questions and mistakes....

Interesting, never knew you could put a folder there Glad it worked out. Your question was certainly not stupid.

I have a love/hate relationship with Chrome.
I would love to throw it in the trash, but would hate to ruin the landfill.
