A friend that lives in the country sent me this. He was having a problem with a chicken thief. He finally caught the villain. A male bobcat. He contacted the local game warden to come pick him up to be relocated.

Wow! Haven't seen one of those since I was a kid growing up on a farm in south central Kansas.

Beautiful cat - glad he is being relocated rather than shot by the farmer (good for him)

We had a cat & fed it outside. Each night a stray came in & helped itself to our guys food.
I borrowed a trap & caught it. Took out my rifle, a .22, lined it up in cage & popped it. It went ballistic & sprayed blood all over my back verandah. Got its revenge on me.
We had bushland opposite & people from town would dump unwanted pets there. Our place was an easy feed, until my benevolence ran out. Several strays met the same end.

I understand your frustration, But it isn't wise to put your solution in print

Just over a year ago we were one of the first to move into our subdivision. Bobcats were seen quite regularly. Not so much since.

If I'd trapped one, I wouldn't have popped it with a .22.

I have hunted for many years. But any more it is such a treat to see those Critters in the wild, there is no way that I would shoot one. And that would include Fox also. Let them be..

I live in well established burbs and we have both bobcats and foxes in the neighborhood. Animal control says it's because of leash laws and now the dogs can't scare them off. Makes sense to me.

Having lived in a Metromess ‘burb for many years, I’d be surprised if there were many dogs being kept in those bedroom communities that if unleashed would intimidate a bobcat or coyote. They’d more likely end up being lunch or dinner.

I've got everything from Great Danes to pit bulls in my neighborhood walking down my block. But the leash laws have stopped the dogs from rabbit hunting and the increase of rabbits has attracted bobcats and coyotes in the area.
