I heard this noise and when I looked out my front window I saw this maybe 600 feet from my front door. It landed in the parking lot/training/Illinois State Testing Site for new motorcyclists at the nearby Harley-Davidson dealer. This was training for people to clear an area for an emergency landing. It sat for over an hour. Lots of photo ops. The group is Illinois EMS RoadDocs. This excitement interrupted my yard work. Now I will have to wait a couple days for nice weather again to finish my yard work.

Very interesting. Great photos.
Thanks Thorny. Never knew that bikers had an EMS group...or is it an EMS group that rides?

Nice.
I have a friend that photographs hundreds of medical helicopters in action.

Nice!! I think it was worth delaying the yard work!!

Thanks Architect1776. This is a rarity for me. Other than the high flying commuter I see at least twice a day, I once saw a Bell land in an open field, perhaps 40 plus years ago. Then there was the Sunday morning a low flying copter was looking for a man who shot one of his son's friends the night before as part of a game. And the one time my very thrifty dad paid for himself, my brothers, mom and myself on a ride around St. Louis around 1963.
Thanks Dodie. I hope the weather holds for the yardwork. I am usually finishing it up in a snow storm and then have to switch the lawn tractor from lawn mowing to snowblowing while outside with 2 to 3 inches on the ground.
Thanks for thumbs up Mandlesphoto.
As a helicopter pilot myself, I think this is a terrific series. Thanks for sharing.
