A super lens, I love mine!

It's heavy and I did miss a number of shots trying to hold it steady. These 89 year old arms aren't what they used to be. But I love the lens. Fast, sharp and a good reach.

I am 77 and even a few years ago handholding the 150-600 was iffy unless the light was good, and I could use a high SS. I find that anything I can brace against or lay the lens over has become my best friend. Trees, fences etc. and I will often take a sturdy monopod that is heavy-duty enough to use as a hiking/walking staff. (Just call me Gandalf.) If I plan to be set up at a location for a while, I will take a medium duty carbon fiber tripod.

Received as a gift a new Sigma 150-600mmlens. Photos(Osprey, Pelican, Egret and Turkey Vulture) were taken using this lens with my Canon R6, handheld, using a high shutter speed so not to show any blur through camera movement

Very nice, sharp pictures! Pictures 1,2,9, appear to be hawks; ospreys have different colored eyes, larger talons, are slightly larger, and have whiter breasts.

Wow!
Those photos are sharp!
That is a heavy lens to hand hold. I have to use a monopod with mine.
Well done!

Nice set, I've had my Sigma 150-600mm for four years now and love it. I always prefer a zoom lens to a prime anyway. I tried a prime 600mm and found it not usable if a bird was too close...you don't get time to walk back to a usable distance when shooting birds. With the Sigma you just wind back the focal length. I use mine on my D7200, D7500, D500 and recently on my Z50, the image quality is brilliant on all of them with this lens.

Opps, forgot to mention, I use the Tamron 150-600 G2 (also had the original) which is as sharp as the Sigma Contemporary and as weather sealed as the Sigma Sport. But the Sport is much heavier, while the G2 is heavier than the Contemporary.

Great shots, Willaim! I do shoot with same lens ( l mean a Contemporary version), and virtually have no complaints! Congrats on this wonderful addition!

It is the Contemporary version. Most shots are handheld, but I have used a tripod and unipod. I think it's a great lens
