TV often shows big family dinners with the kids sitting at a separate table in another room. Did any of you have to do that? Thinking back, I was never at a kids' table. As a matter of fact, I was never even at a big family gathering. My parents made me stay home so the dog "wouldn't be lonely." There was usually some food in the fridge, so I could eat whatever I wanted. Ah, childhood memories!
(I'm kidding, of course, but I never did sit at a kids' table).

When we had our son and daughter and their crew over for dinner the young ones always had a separate
table. It was the same when I was growing up.
Sitting at the kids table was the best. You got feed first.đŸ˜€

Jerry, I have wonderful memories of large family gatherings and sitting at the "Kid's Table".
After the blessing Grandmother would make sure each Grandchild had a full plate before the adults were allowed to pass their plates.
Sometimes I wish that I still qualified to sit at the "Kid's Table".
Now, after a meal, it looks as if a small child had eaten where I sat, grin.
Thanks for the memories of visiting the Grandparents, Thanksgiving meals with Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and the duty camera on a makeshift tripod counting down, and everyone saying . . . .
Smile,

Yep. We always had a kid's table at large family gatherings. However; the adults ate first and we got the leftovers (which were more than adequate). We were always outside playing, anyway, and had to be called in to eat.
Yep, the old folding leg card table. That’s why when I made my kitchen table, I made it big. It will also serve as a shelter from roof cave ins, meteorite strikes and earthquakes.

Yes, those card tables come in handy. I keep one in the garage for the occasional project.
When I was growing up we didn't have kids table but us kids got to eat first then the adults.
Always the kid's table...and you would join the big table when you got old enough—been at the big table sixty years now. Very little politics spoken at the kid's table. I preferred the kid's table.

I'm glad the only one to be here will be my son. No arguing.
Kid's table?
You guys were lucky.
I sat in the kid's closet.

Did you have a light, at least?
