I am absolutely sure the guy with the bag had a buck or so. Probably, he didn't see the gentleman in the wheelchair. But that's OK, I took care of him.

Between the pods in his ear and the New York rule (never make eye contact) you are probably correct, David.

Note the bag, Mike. And incidentally, if I want to make contact with strangers on the street, I do look them in the eye. Before you admonish me, I am selective and do not try to interact with screwballs, screamers or sex-maniacs (the last just to see if you are paying attention).

I thought that was a Boston rule.

Not all sex maniacs are bad, David, what about the females?

I’m sure the handicapped person would qualify for governmental assistance and not need to go begging. I won’t give beggars money, but I have bought them a meal.

Like the guy I watched that was standing outside our local Walmart with his “Anything will help sign”. After he got tired of begging, he walked behind a gas station across the street, got into a clean, bright red 2 year old Chevy truck and drove away.

I admit that the truck may have been 3 years old because I drive Dodges. For those who think I’m making it up, it was the Moberly MO Walmart and his truck was parked behind the Break Time gas station. Maybe he needed help making his truck payment.

We have people come up from Mexico, go to Walmart and buy a case of water that has 40 bottles for 5.00. Then they walk between the rows of cars on the street for a buck, wearing a sing that says 'Selling water to support my family and kids' Later I saw him go into a bar, his family was probably waiting for him. I don't give any of them anything. I pay enough taxes to support them, they don't need more handouts then they already are getting

That happened a few years back in Toronto. A lady was at a corner every day and one day someone followed her when she left. She drove a Mercedes and a search of her plate led to a ritzy area in Oakville, about 5 hours away.
