Rainy and cool today so it was a play indoors day. I went to my box of collectibles and pulled out an acorn with its cap, a small acorn without a cap, and a loose cap and set them on a piece of bark with a dried leaf behind it for a focus stacking session. As it turned out, it appears to be fitting for the fall season upon us.

An engaging composition of interesting subjects - and a nice change from bugs

Thanks, Linda. I pick up odds and ends that I come across during my walkabouts such as feathers, acorns, pieces of bark, bits of moss, etc. and I keep them in a box for times like this. Of course, insects are my passion, although I enjoy wildflowers and other bits of nature too.

Very good idea! You have "en eye" to select tiny things and a real skill to emphase them in picture. Very creative. I like this ...off from the beaten path!

Thanks, Merrytexan. It's a lot easier for me to set a small stage than it is a large one.

Nicely done, sippy. The more subjects you find the better it gets.

Thanks, Kpmac. I'd like to say that I have a specific session in mind, although that's seldom the case. I walk into the room and look around at all of my "stuff" and whatever catches my eye at that moment is normally what I go with.
