There was a post a few days ago about upcoming photo/camera shows where one could see various pieces of equipment that are currently available. I mentioned Hunts Photo in the Boston area.
Well! I just received a mailed circular (value mail not junk mail) announcing their upcoming show; November 4 to 6. More info at huntsphoto.com.
In the past I have found this a pretty good consumer show with good discounts. Not so sure now since all the manufacturers set the prices with few discounts.

Musta been way in the past. Manufacturers have been controlling prices for many years now.

I liked Hunt when I lived in MA. Good employees, well stocked. 5 years ago, but I moved.

Manufacturers do control prices, but stores have the option to include accessories as discounts.

The accessories are usually cheap low quality stuff.

There are cheap, low quality stores, but the good stores I've dealt with would offer good accessories.

Thanks for the info. I'm in northern RI, There's a Hunts in Providence but it always seemed like a small store-front that only catered to the occasional camera user, but I will make an effort to go.

It's not uncommon for manufacturers to go along with special pricing offered by the big retailers at promotional events. And make no mistake, Hunt's is the premier New England retailer.
