UPS delivered my 30.65 oz container of Maxwell House yesterday. The box had been cut open and resealed with tape. There was no packing list inside. The aluminum seal on the coffee is intact, though.
Stuff like that seems to be the norm anymore.
I hope that the coffee will still be good to the last drop!.
:-)
...ground coffee is sometimes used to confuse drug-sniffing dogs....just a thought.... More importantly, don't put a golf range finder in your checked baggage at the airport...those tend to find themselves for sale on e-bay or confiscated because they have lithium batteries in them.
And to add insult to injury the you used to get 36oz. for the same price as you paid for 30.65

Have you checked the weight of a "1 lb" can of coffee lately?

Is this a joke? There's no such thing.

That's the point. There used to be. Then the coffee companies got smart and reduced the container weight without reducing the price.
Many, many years ago Coors Beer sold their beer in 11-oz bottles but priced the same as other brewers' beer. No one really noticed, but that meant that in a case of 24 bottles you got two bottles less than you did with a case of another beer.

Yep. My chief annoyance is the smaller packages of ice cream. They used to be half a gallon. Now, they're three pints. I buy Stewart's because they sell a full half gallon.

Blue Bell still has full half-gallons but you're right, most of them are now going that way. It's a very sneaky way to legally raise the price without most people noticing. I try to avoid companies that do that but when they all do it you have no choice.

Hershey's did, too - a while ago. Nope! - 1.5 pints now.

But Stewart's is good ice cream, won't get any now until summer, bummer!

They have great flavors. I check their weekly specials. I was getting a bit carried away with their ice cream - $338.94 so far this year. I've cut back, but withdrawal is awful.

Be careful----- Maybe they took the last drop so it might not be good. (Maxwell House, good to the last drop)😁
Speaking of quantities getting smaller, has anyone noticed my favorite drink, Gatorade, now comes in 28oz containers in place of the 32oz containers of the past. And if the price has changed, it has actually increased - we get to pay more for less???
As for the coffee, just be glad there is an aluminum seal and it wasn't cut. As someone else said, coffee is often used to try to confuse the dogs. Sad to say this is just an example of the world today and the inspectors doing their job. I would try to avoid receiving coffee through the mail.
