There was a lot of dust in the sky from yesterdays winds in the West Phoenix Valley and the clouds kept getting closer to Apache Junction. I kept hoping we would get some well needed rain, but it stopped short.
Parts of Apache Junction received the rains, but we were, once again, the area that got the views but not the rain. In this sunset shot, you can see the rain's trying to fall, but Virga takes over and the rain evaporates before it gets close enough to make it to the ground.

Great color in this one, Jack.
👍 Saw it on the weather news -- nicely captured.

Thank you, it was a colorful one for sure
I actually got some rain, but not as much as the cloud promised. It was a VERY threatening cloud and huge!

Great shot of a combined sunset and Virga rain.

I was out picking up Chinese food at Iron Chef on Power and Chandler Heights when the cloud started coming from Queen Creek. Got my wonton soup and headed home before the dust hit.

I'm envious AzPicLady, I stood in my driveway and watched the rains soak Superstition Mountain, and it completely missed us. Awesome sunset though.

That same cloud rolled across our area too, glad I wasn't out driving in it.
