Thanks Bubbee! I think the "tourists" thing is overblown somehow. The local need tourists to stimulate their economy, so everyone is happy right? Only things to be considered as tourists: Observing the surrounding, looking confident, knowing where you going, keeping valuable things in the hotel,...Then you will be fine. No matter what you do, the locals know who you are right away!

Yes and no. We were on a tour bus driving around the city about 1/2 hour with the usual tour guide's story of the city then for the rest, we were on our own for couple of hours. So, we dispersed pretty fast after couple of blocks in the city.
