That is not good news. I do a lot of long distance traveling and many times I'm pulling a boat or a trailer with motorcycles. Though I would like to believe an EV is an option, it simply isn't.
Don't want an EV...don't buy one.
Pretty simple.
who knows what they will be like in ten years? Pretty awesome maybe. But I hope they bite the dust.
Just read an article last night that Ford is increasing the price of the F-150 Lightening EV by $5,000 in 2023 because of part supply chain price increases.

I think they have their place, but I don't see them as a suitable substitution for completely replacing gas powered trucks. I could see a hybrid solution.

just got back from road trip deep into Mexico....did not see a single EV charging station...paid 5.00 gal for 91 octane..about 4.50 for 89 octane
As here, the discussion of the e-car omits a controlling variable: Inadequate infrastructure to support the nationwide use of this novel means of vehicle.

I'm still waiting for them to build a truck that will go 200 miles before (recharge/refueling) pulling a combined truck and 5th wheel weight of 20,000lb like my 1998 Dodge with 12 valve Cummins and get back on the road in 20 min with coffee.

Yeah I'm not holding my breath.
Nicely captured recreation encampment.
Your post gives a stark example of the present inadequacy of the roadway infrastructure to accommodate the e-vehicle.
Besides, nobody to my knowledge has fully described the project and all its costs for building out the necessary infrastructure for this purpose. Instead, we hear only hoopla regarding it. Elon Musk serves as a poster boy for this project.
For now, I expect fusion energy to power civilization.

I have read other articles discussing what complete failures EVs are if towing or loaded.
Put a load of gravel or hay bales in an EV and see how it fails.
Most pickups I see look to never have worked beyond going to the office and back.
