Cant remember if I put this on before, but still have a problem I burn a DVD of a slide show. I then put it on my Sony DVD player.. Instead of loading and playin, it comes up with a notice that simply says "root". I hit play and after a fairly long period of time, it plays fine. This presents a problem for others who play it as well. It plays fine on a computer. Anyone know what is going on and is there a fix?
Is there a set "auto-play" option when creating the DVD?
Autoplay has been disabled, and rightly so, since what? Win8, Win7? I know Win10 & 11 have Autoplay disabled.
I have win 11 on a PC. I use Burnaware premium. I cannot find a setting that will allow auto play on my Sony player. I comes up as ROOT. Just want the dvd to start playing automatically when inserted into the player. Does not look like Burnaware offers this option buy maybe Wondershare is the way to go? Thanks for any help on this!
In Windows 10, open up SETTINGS. Click on DEVICES, then AUTOPLAY. Ensure AUTOPLAY is turned ON.
If that doesn't fix the issue, run the hardware and devices troubleshooter. Follow these steps:
a. Type TROUBLESHOOTING in the search box on the taskbar.
b. Click TROUBLESHOOTING in the search results.
c. Click "View all" and then click "Hardware and Devices".
d. Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.
Also youshould update your chipset drivers from the computer manufacturer's website, if not done in awhile.

Problem solved. I learned that Burnaware software does not allow a DVD to auto load int a player. Win DVD maker does, and works satisfactorily. Thanks to all who responded. UHH is a great place to go to for photography and related items.
