They're a business. Not a charity. Their profit is probably cents on the dollar. They make money for their shareholders and retired people with retirement plans.
That profit figure is meaningless. Showing you can make figures and statistics mean anything you want if you have an agenda. How much of that "profit" goes back into exploration, innovation, new technology?
