Great shots. I am hoping to shoot the city from DUMBO in the next few weeks. You should try Governors Island. The views and photo opportunities are amazing.

Thanks so much rdemarco52! I will put in my travelling note so next time I will try that spot. There are so many places you can take great pictures of NYC scape just a matter of the available time you have. My son and his wife live about 5 subway stops from Dumbo in Brooklyn.

If you’re an out of towner in NY visiting Dumbo, the most iconic photo site there is at the top of Washington St at Front St looking west toward the Manhattan Bridge. It is almost a cliche shot, but in case you aren’t aware of the location, it really does have a great wow factor, especially if you frame the Empire State Building in the arch of the bridge tower. Attached is a copy of “the shot”pulled from the internet. It isn’t my pic, but unsure who to attribute it to.

Btw - the lighting varies with time of day (duh!) and it can even work in late pm when you’re looking west.

I did not bring the tripod with me so some of the long-exposed pictures were taken by putting the camera a concrete column (last 4 pictures).

Hope you will enjoy the NYC night scape.

Great shots, colors and subject matter. Last time I was there was in 1969, probably has changed a lot since then. Stationed at the Navy shipyard on Flushing. We used to call it the DMZ between Myrtle and Flushing, ahh the " good old days & nights " .
