I'd try to keep it alive, I keep several plants over from summer to summer in the basement under lights, Coleus, Croton, Geraniums, Basil (sometimes it lives), and others, use water from my fish tank to water them.

Joe,
Coleus is easy to propagate. We take cuttings of branches that have patterns we like and put them in jars of water over the winter (indoors). They will set roots fairly quickly. The water diet works all through the winter months. The newbies go out in the garden in spring and seem to be happy.
Your thumb is turning green!
