Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with where to get the inks for Canon PIXMA Pro-1 printer.

I haven't used much of this printer lately. I found out that Canon has discontinued this printer support including its inks.

I have a hard time finding the inks for this printer. Homedepot and Staples no longer carry them. It looks like I have to get compatible inks. Could anyone who has experience in using compatible inks provide any recommendations?

Really appreciate your help.

Regards,
Kent

It probably be easier to buy a new comparable printer than finding inks for you old one.
If you can afford it.
I had a problem like that with one my printers, bought a new printer for less than $200

Thank you for your advice Manglesphoto. Due to the high cost to replace the comparable printer, I would prefer to get the inks if possible. The comparable printer costs around $1200. 😭

For my Pro-100, I use both B&H and Amazon. I looked and both have them for the Pro=1

For off brand inks, I like LD:

B&H:

Thank you bsprague. That helps. Could you share your experience with the off brand LD?

How is their quality and consistency?

Thanks!

I've been using LD toner cartridges for my laser printer for several years. They have caused no problem.

My feelings about my photo prints are different than my feelings about documents! My goal in photography is to create a couple "wall hangers" a month. I often don't even succeed at that. So, even if I saved half of what I spend on Canon cartridges, I'm not saving that much actual cash. Instead I choose to buy into to the Canon marketing message that if I use their paper and ink in their printer I will get a complete system of good color, long print life and reliable printer operation.

I buy one cartridge at a time when it is empty and the printer stops. I keep one spare of each color. I probably average $20 to $30 a month on Canon ink.

Is it possibly true that Canon has abandoned users of a high end printer like a PIMXA Pro-100? Perhaps it is just a for now supply chain issue. If the ink is really unavailable too, I am Scr**** to for my model Pro-100. I may have to bail on Canon and go to an Epson photo quality printer. $$$$!

"Is it possibly true that Canon has abandoned users of a high end printer like a PIMXA Pro-100?"

And Kent, the OP, wrote in the first post that "I found out that Canon has discontinued this printer support including its inks."

Rather than suggest that the OP was wrong, I put up a couple links where he could get ink. There is also Canon selling their ink direct. https://www.usa.canon.com/content/canon/en/search.html?q=PGI-29&r=products

The Canon series of Pro-1, Pro-10 and Pro-100 has been replaced with newer models. That does not mean they quit making the ink!

Have a similar problem with a Canon PIXMA Pro 100. It is very difficult information to get from Canon's web site but they still offer ink for your model and mine. Your problem can be resolved when you can decipher their new labeling. CL cartridges are now CLI. Your printer is listed but I do not remember it's new cart. numbers. Good luck!

If you go to the CanonUSA website they have a finder for the ink.

You did not quote my entire short post. The remainder of you post just states what I implied that the inks are available. I also just read the following posts that explain how they do order or find inks onn the Canon website like I suspected and I have in the past at least. What gives?
