Hi Baz. I will give it a go with you.:) If I ever get to see it again.:) We have had clouds here for the last two weeks because of Sandy.:( I have found the best time to do a morning Moon is when it first shows if you can. I always loose details if I wait to long and it get higher in the sky. They are saying we much get a few clear sky's here in the next few days. I have to get up and drive about 2 miles to get a good Moon shot. I have way to many big trees in the yard. So it is almost high noon before I get to see it. But I will see if I can get a few on the way to work.

Hi Baz. I live in southeast Louisiana. I got this one at around 7:30 AM CST the other morning. Shot at f/16, 1/25 sec. ISO 200. Brought up the shadows a touch in LR4.

Nice pic m8 unfortunately my camera only goes to F8 so maybe up the speed & the ISO (or lower it).

I always go for the longer shutter speed as opposed to higher ISO, less noise.

To begin with, beg, borrow or rent an L37 and an L39 UV filter and stack them. Then bracket -1, 0, +1.

Haveago - I just posted daytime pics of the moon about 2-3 days ago. Here is the UHH link: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-74612-1.html#1256864

Access that site and read some of the messages and see what you think.

Here is my first try for today. Very frosty out this morning. Going to try again as it is going down. Taken at 9AM. The early morning ones didn't turn out because of light clouds around it.

Here is my first (I think) attempt at a day moon and a close-up. A bit grainy, but....
