I am a photographer, not an expert on you-tube. That said:

When I watch a video on you-tube, there are times (Not often) when I want to leave the host a comment, or just get in touch with the host. At the bottom when you scroll down, there are comments left by other viewers. There is a "Subscribe" button, and I click on that button as well as ring the bell to get "All" the future videos. So far...so good. Then when I click on the "Leave Comment Button"...my computer "Returns to the MAIN YOU- TUBE SCREEN"...AND I AM NOT ABLE TO LEAVE A COMMENT...OR GET IN TOUCH WITH THE HOST???

What am I doing wrong? And how do I leave a comment?

I hope this is clear to someone...that can help me.

The poster and admin of YouTube can stop comments or limit them. Especially if the number starts to get ridiculous or people start saying things they don't like. One photo site I frequent there is a recent entry/thread the admin got bent out of shape about number and content of posts so as of yesterday had them limited to one every five minutes per poster-and that includes edits of previous posts. And yesterday afternoon the clock they were using seemed to have the longest minutes in the universe.

I'm with burkphoto. If you haven't registered you can't leave comments, irrespective of whether the OP has disabled them.

I comment on YouTube all the time, and I do not have an acct....
