They are not smokestacks, they are cooling towers. To the best of my knowledge, there was never a nuclear powerplant in that part of PA. Probably an old coal fired powerplant.

According to my source, the plants were constructed to be nuclear power plants near Belvedere (sp?). Foul Rift, NJ is where we were to take the shot. The plant was converted to coal because of the fears of Three Island plant and Chernobyl issues.
"Smoke Stacks" was the reference used by many of us old folks when talking about the cooling towers. There was a scrubber tower that I left out of the shot.
