Now that is a lovely photograph. I can just see someone, actually me, sitting in one of those buildings in the early morning or late afternoon waiting for a buck to step out. Did you have any luck?
Dennis
Many thanks, Dennis. Yes, got a very nice buck a few miles further south along this ridgeline!!

Very nice photo! Looks like a very nice area. 7500 feet makes for COLD winters but it looks like it's protected from the wind at least.
Thank you, Chief...we've spent a few nights when the temps hovered close to 0* and the days don't get much warmer!!

Lovely scene and fine shot Jim.
Who knows?
A friend of mine, a BLM ( Bureau of Land Management) surveyor came across an abandoned cabin while exploring the Missouri Breaks preparatory to making them a national monument. The door was locked, and the table was set as if someone had had a meal and then left for the day. It was obvious nobody had been there for years. Did whoever meet an unhappy end on the river? Did he just give up and move on? No one knows. Best of my knowledge it's still there, BLM kept its location quiet.

Thanks for the response, DRam...could be many old cabins, like the one you describe, tucked away in mountain ranges. Been to, and hunted, the Missouri Breaks in Montana and could see how the remote cabin could remain that way. Glad that there are still locations like this remaining out there.
