Day before yesterday was beautiful and I went for a walk around a local lake called Reflections Lake. I took this from the west end of the lake, looking east toward the Chugach Mountains. This mountain is called Pioneer Peak, memorializing the New Deal pioneers who came up here in the 1930’s. It’s peak is at 6800’ and rises from sea level. We call that light coating of snow on the peak “termination dust.”
