thought I would ask the question. I have Lightroom Classic for a while now when I open it I get a suggestion to back up all. Then suggests I remove my computers video files and install a new driver. I do not do any videos but is this something I should consider, will this affect my photo work?

If you have Lightroom Classic, you are on an Adobe subscription to their "Creative Cloud". About every two or three months, there is an update. If you are not doing those updates, there may need to be a change in your workflow.

It does not make sense that you are being asked to remove video files.

i do all the updates as they come thru. Maybe not clear in what i was saying. Back up the files I guess as a precaution then remove the present driver and install the new suggested video driver. This is supposed to give a clearer crisper look to the videos, this upgrade is suggested for those that have windows 10, since I do not do videos should I consider the new driver?
Forgot to mention my laptop is a windows 7 and did all online upgrade to a windows 10 as they came through.
Guess I could contact Adobe.

If you are using an AMD (Nvidia) card it may be wanting you to update as they update their drivers frequently. When you get this message is there a way for you to get more info?

I would have to look at your actual messages. But, I think it is telling you that your video or "graphics" card needs an update. I don't think it has to do with videos. It is about what makes your computer work for graphic programs like Lightroom Classic.

Can you take a screen shot, save it to a jpeg and post it here?

I thought it was just me, but it sounds like a lot of people are getting this message. Since I have an annual subscription to the Best Buy Geek Squad, I thought i would go in and have them take a look. I personally do a lot of program updates, but the video graphics driver scares me to attempt. Windows 10 also.

Looks to me like a valid reason to install a new driver.

Yup! Go to NVIDA's service and do it. It is easy, but takes a few minutes.

Microsoft may think so for Windows apps, but Adobe and NVIDIA do not concur. Update your driver.

In the NVIDA system you may be given a choice between a "Game" driver or a "Studio" driver. Pick "Studio" for Adobe applications.

Thank You. I got it and confirmed it is the right one for my issue. I don't know if this info helps the original poster or not.

Good to know and I did see that choice available.
