The first hummingbirds of the southerly migration have arrived on North Padre Island over the past few days. Here are a few shots I have captured under differing lighting conditions. Enjoy.

Nice set. I like the last three best.

Thanks, Ken. You have chosen wisely. Those shots had the best lighting which in turn improves the colors and detail. And the hummer feeding on a natural flower is ideal in my opinion as well. Wish those were of a male, but given patience, that opportunity will arise.

Beautiful set and I join Ken in his picks, Bubba!

Fattening up for the trip across the Gulf! Nice shots.
Very nice. Would you divulge your settings and set up?

Thanks, rcfees.
I sit quietly in shade around 15 feet from a feeder and some flowering plants on my back porch and wait. These were shot with a Nikon Z9, 500mm lens with 1.4TC and camera in DX Crop mode. By saving the file, you can check the EXIF data yourself, but most were shot at f/5.6, shutter between 1/1250th and 1/2500th, Auto ISO.
