Closure of the plant in the mid-eighties was the first of several big blows to our local manufacturing sector. Many still remain, but greatly downsized. We have to drive several hours to get to an airshow from here, so your shots are a good fill in for the real thing (and a lot cooler, I'd bet).
That is not a YA-10 it's an A10, there was only one ever built and it passed the flight testing but was cancelled before any others were modifications.
