Microsoft Edge just froze my computer - twice - and wasted a lot of my time. It decided to install a new version of itself, and that froze the computer. When I finally got Task Manager working, it showed 99% memory and 95% CPU usage. I had to wait while it sorted itself out. I lost all the tabs I had at the top of the screen for quick reference. I'm going to put them in the Bookmarks Bar now.
When Edge started, it presented itself as brand new, showing me all its features. Then it froze. After restarting the machine, it froze again. I'm back to Chrome.
Microsoft and Boeing seem to have a lot in common although at least with Microsoft, taxpayers aren't footing the bill for their boondoggle.
I have learned to hate Microsoft Edge.
The back button icon doesn't constantly work and, while browsing, if I want to goe back to a previous page, I need to use the history utility. I have searched the web for a solution with either no results or processes that are very complex and usually don't work. When there is an update, I install it thinking the problem will be resolved. It never is.
If Microsoft actually gave a damn they would offer a "Backbutton Repair Tool", but they don't care.

I have no problems with it.
I use Firefox. I rarely have an issue though it sometimes takes it a while to log on.

They re-did it lately. It's now based on Chromium, and it's supposed to be a lot better. When I'm through using the computer for the day, I'll try it again.

We should all stay clear of Edge, just as we did with its predessor, Internet Exploder.

That's too bad. At least the downtime gave you more time to contemplate the cost of an ear of corn.
Windows has turned out finally to be excellent.
Edge is another matter...
Simplest and fastest I have found with maximum privacy is the browser 'Brave'.
It even has Tor built right into it...nice option.

Downtime? I don't have downtime. I'm always doing something - computer, TV, ice cream, napping. I'm a busy guy.
I continue to wonder why anyone even bothers to use Edge. There are so many capable alternatives.

I had always avoided Edge, but after the re-build, several "experts" are recommending it.
