One of my favorite places (for some things). I am currently on a dragonfly kick and am trying different cameras and lenses to try and find the best for me combo. Today I used the Sony A7R3 with the Sony 100-400 and a 1.4x teleconverter. Other than me problems (shakiness due to old age) this combo worked well I think.
Shot in raw, processed with DXO Photolab 4, output as jpg with 3450 pixels on the long edge.

Suffers from camera shake but the colors show through.

No idea what this is. It crawled under a leaf right after this shot.

The full size download shows the sharpness of this lens on the eyes.

a partial view of the first of the 3 ponds in this park. I need to use a wide angle lens to show the whole pond.

Beautiful set, John! I have the Sony a7R3 and 100-400 lens also. Excellent glass. I still use that set up, but my long shots are now with the Sony A1, the 200-600 lens and the 1.4tc.
That pond looks like my kind of place. Nice variety of subjects. Well done.

You said it yourself… the DL on the dragon in number 8 is incredible! Regardless of the lens, I don’t think I could have achieved that without a tripod.Wonderful.
Looks like a combo you should stick with. Great shots.
You & this combo produce some beautiful photos. Great sharp detail. I can see why you would want to spend time there.
