Last week the Monsoon's were pretty active here in Arizona. From my home in Apache Junction, I was keeping an eye on the eastern horizon as I was working on some older photos and this monster started taking up a lot of sky. The leading (western) edge was somewhere around Superior and the trailing edge was somewhere around Globe.
I thought for sure we were going to catch a bit of hell if it kept on its course, so I did some cleaning up outside.... just in case. This was all happening around 6:30pm so the clouds had a bit of color from the sunset to make them look innocent and harmless.
Well, Superior and Globe both caught a good amount of rain, wind and lightning but the storm must have played itself out, cause it fizzled before it got to my neck of the desert.

Looks like that old boy was cooking up something fierce.
I watched that cloud. It was quite threatening but beautiful.
Menacing....Especially in B&W....
Love Monsoon time, watching the rain approach, cloud formation and all the thunder, hate the humidity. Great photo
Impressive clouds, enough to cause one to consider shelter.
