I was getting set up in the new shop I built to have a garage sale and sell off a LOT of old film cameras left over from my store. I had a couple higher end cameras that I called KEH about for a quote. While discussing what I was selling they offered to buy it all! To my surprise, Brent flew to Montana and indeed bought every body and lens I had that was listed in their system! VERY nice check for me, and no hassels with selling them.

Most of what they didn't want were any plastic Canon bodies, early Nikon N2000s, and some Minolta and Ricoh early AF film bodies. I put them all in a tub and am donating them to the school today.

Great experience and very fair prices from KEH, they actually paid more than the prices I had on many items when they were in my store inventory!

They know their business pretty well. Hope you are enjoying your retirement. Just know that the Nex-7 I bought from you started my obsession with quality imagery, and growing appreciation for bright glass!

A good deal benefits all parties to it. No doubt, they saw profit value in what you had. I'm glad it worked out for you!

I've bought several lenses, a body, and a tripod head from them. They've always been in better shape than advertised, and still work flawlessly.

I have dealt with them many times over the past decade and they have always been fair and efficient.

I even sold some cameras back to them after using them for several years - in many cases for more that I originally paid them. That's probably an indication that the used film camera market is getting hotter.

It IS getting hotter. I was at my local brick and mortar store and mentioned I had an RB67 Pro S and occasionally shot and developed film. One of the employees handed me his card and said he’d be interested in buying it and another came up and asked me if I wanted to sell any darkroom equipment! Say what?

Back on the subject of KEH, they are a class act, no question - never bought anything that wasn’t as good and usually better than advertised.

There's an actual brick-and-mortar camera store in Raleigh???

I recently sold several film cameras, lenses and assorted accessories (bags, etc.) to KEH. They were very fair and purchased the entire lot for what I considered a fair price. I've used KEH for over 30 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. Your experience, MT, was my experience.

Actually two! Southeastern Camera is my go to store - large inventory (new, used, digital and film) and nice, knowledgable pros on staff: https://www.southeasterncamera.com/. They also have a branch in Chapel Hill. Then there is Peace St. Camera - smaller, but with some emphasis on film (paper, chemicals, film and darkroom equip): https://www.peacecamera.com/
