I may have missed this, but just in case ...
Adobe Elements 2022 is $59.99 until September 5

While I think of it, 2 annoying aspects of Elements 2022.
1) On the welcome screen 'someone' seems to think its okay to play with a selection of my pics by doing editing suggestions. This reeelly annoys me, and no way that I can see of stopping it.
2) Occasionally I'm asked to log in to Adobe before I can go ahead with any editing. I'm not on an monthly charge so why the log in requirement.
I just get the feeling that everything I do in Elements is being 'watched' by big brother Adobe.

Anyone else have these popping up before they can use the programme?

One solution might be to simply create a short-cut to the Editor so you skip the launch / selection Window from PSE. I don't have your exact software version, but see if a file exists like "Photoshop Elements ##.0.exe". I don't know what value ## will have from PSE-2022. My version "10" resides inside the "organizer" folder inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe. When I launch the PSE editor via my short-cut 'launch icon', I go straight into the editor.

I have 2021, and it works well for me. I made my living with computers and computer programming, so it is an easy program for me to use. DXO and Anthropics add-ons integrate rather seamlessly. And you have 3 options for editing, Quick, Guided, and Expert. The learning curve is, to me, rather mildly slanted. Good luck if you decide to go. And, like you, I hate paying for something more than once.

Windows 10
I right click on any image and select "Open with Elements Editor"

Corel Paint shop Pro is another user friendly program. When learning it can be set to provide popup instructions for almost every operation. Once you are comfortable that you understand it, you selectively turn off the help popups.

I love Paint Shop Pro but they won't make a Mac version, Bummer!

I don't get the log in pop-up you apparently do, but I too find their suggestions for what to do annoying and hate having to go through that introductory screen and choose the editor to proceed to rather than just being taken directly to the editor.

See my idea above to set-up a short-cut to the EXE that is the PSE editor.

Thanks. I'll have to try that

I forget what it is but there’s a way to bypass that opening screen. I thinks it’s in Preferences. I put my Organizer and the Editor in my task bar.

I like the program. Years ago I had Photoshop and so the the tools are familiar. I do have a problem with it. The size of the menu fonts is too small for me to read at times. I have a large monitor which helps but I often find myself struggling to read the small fonts. Part of this is some eye concerns that I have that others probably don't, but how hard would it be for Adobe to allow the user to change the font sizes?

Can that be changed in your monitor settings? I read that some of the newer monitors show real small text for some programs but can be adjusted in their settings.

Thank you. I'll doublecheck.

The way to select bypass the welcome screen is no longer included in the choices in preferences (I checked), but once the editor is open, pinning it to the taskbar allows you to bypass the welcome screen and launch the editor directly from the task bar thereafter.

Thanks for inspiring me to investigate and experiment. Opening the editor is going to be considerably less frustrating from now on. :)
