Does anyone know how to clear emails I have tones of them and want to clear out the entire bunch. I also have a bunch of photos I need to clear out on google drive. They have made it impossible to do this. Googling instructions provides no answer. Microsoft forum no luck. They only allow one page at a time of emails to be cleared. that would take me days to do. Microsoft forum offer no answer. have win 11 on a pc.

Yes, I know I should call, but hoping someone here knows a quick answer!

thanks

Good question. I'd like to know the answer, too.

I do not even know if my computer interacts with Google Drive. How may I find out if it does?

For the time being, I prefer to save all my files on my computer and on external drives.

I know the selling-point for online storage and retrieval of files. But I do not wish to participate in this file-backup model.

If you put e-mails in the trash after reading them, you can go to the trash folder and empty it. Same with the scam folder. I admit that deleting images from Google drive is a pain. Used to, one could simply delete an album and all the pictures in t were gone. Now, if you delete the album, then the grouping is gone, but not the images. If you select several at a time, you can delete them that way.

Not sure about emails, but for files it's a piece of cake ... Google Drive when viewed in Windows File Explorer (or any other...I use Power Desk) appears as just another drive, and can be operated in the same manner. You can add/update files or directories at will. You can delete one or multiple files or directories by selecting them, and click DELETE. I do this all the time. I gave the Google Drive the G: letter designation...get it? G: for Google Drive.

You can set filters to select specific emails. If you want to delete all old emails set a filter for that date range. Same approach for ‘Sent By’. Google how to set filters in gmail.

In google photos select the check mark next to each date and all for that date are selected. Put in trash then empty trash.
For gmail use an email program not the web page otherwise you are limited to viewing and acting on 100 at a time I believe. Gmail saves trashed messages for 30 days. There is a button on the Trash Label page to empty now if you prefer but you can't change the automatic behavior.

I use Google Drive to store files from my PC. How do I get Google Drive to show up in my PC's root File Explorer display as a drive?

How many emails have you saved? I have accounts for both Outlook and Gmail and can display up to 50 emails per page. I can't clear out everything at once but 50 is better than 10 or even 20 at a time. Maybe think of it as eating an elephant, one bite at a time. take several bites each day and eventually you will be done.

I think you're right about that one-page-at-a-time thing. It does get rid of 100 emails, though, and it is very fast. I tried deleting my Spectrum emails (currently 72,900), and every page takes several minutes. Once you get them into Trash, you can delete all of them at once. It's the same with Sent emails.

I just deleted a page of 100 in about two seconds.

I clear e-mails this way: First, go to the top where it shows Date - From etc. Click on ''From" and all your e-mails will come up by who sent them. If you want to eliminate all of one sender's mail, simply click the box on the side of the notice, scroll down to the end of that sender (it could be 10 or 500 it could also be multiple senders), hold down the shift key and click on the last e-mail in the group. Every e-mail between the two checked boxes will highlight. Then go up to the trash can at the top and touch that. All the highlighted e-mails will go away. At one time I had over 9000 e-mails and knocked them down using that approach. Lately, I've been using that highlighting function to select every e-mail received in a day. I then go down the highlighted list and unclick all the ones I want to read or save. Then I click on the trash can and eliminate over half of the day's e-mails. If a company continues to send unwanted e-mails, I also unclick them, bring them up and unsubscribe.

I delete this way using Windows. I go to the first one I want to delete and click on it then holding the shift key I scroll down to the last one I want to delete and release the shift key then hit delete and they all go away.

I think the limit you can delete at one time is 1000. If you exceed that amount the remainder is left in your in box and you have to trash them with the next 1000 you delete.
