As an attorney, I hesitate to forward this as it can be considered to be an indictment against my profession. But I

believe there is much truth to the article that follows. It's a very thought provoking piece. Lawyers are adversarial

and are trained to try to win at all costs. It may work in litigation ----- but does not work well when governing our

nation in Congress. Trying to win at any costs creates the polarization and hatred that now fills our country....and

leaves no room for common sense or legitimate debate.

Every Democrat presidential nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate – Biden (no

surprise) was at the bottom of his class). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd

Bentsen, went to law school. Barack Obama was a lawyer. Michelle Obama was a lawyer. Hillary Clinton was a

lawyer. Bill Clinton was a lawyer. John Edwards is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards was a lawyer.

Look at leaders of the Democrat Party in Congress: Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer is a lawyer.

Former Senator Harry Reid was a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

Nobody in all history has been as obsessively must-win-at-all-costs as Donald Trump.

Perhaps not as publically, but in reality, Trump can barely hold a candle to how underhanded and corrupt most successful "lifer" politicians conduct their must-win-at-all costs operations.

You are correct. The public hates lawyers. Often rightly so. It is unfair though for the 3% good to suffer due to the 97% bad.

There are few real leaders which come from the legal profession. The primary reason is that lawyers are not taught to lead. They are taught process. I've been on juries, both criminal and civil, and observed their behavior first hand, as have a lot of folks. The one thing that stands out about a competent (or other) lawyer, is that they hardly ever step out of the process. You could take a civil/criminal text on procedure to a trial, and watch how closely they stick to the script. Even judges are sticklers for the process. As long as the process is followed, and no errors of magnitude are committed, everything is all right, regardless the outcome in court. Not to be trite, but the lawyer is never sent to jail when the client is convicted.

This narrows the focus of their thinking, and inhibits the trait of leadership that requires "out of the box" or reactive/adaptive thinking.

Leadership, on the other hand, is a learned behavior. And the best places for learning leadership are the service academies. Forget the "B" schools; they're almost as bad as law schools.

Our country was founded by freedom loving philosophers who would fight to the death for Truth.
Their words were so inspirational, that centuries later, idealists are still willing to die for Truth.

Lawyers are those whose words are for sale to the highest bidder and to those seeking power. They use words that are amputated to fit the meaning of the particular Procrustean Bed of the moment.

Sydney Powel is a lawyer too. So is Rudy Juliani.

But to be fair, these are your first words here that are actually thought provoking.

This is what kills me about who I thought were my intellectual peers and friends who are Trump haters. By hating Trump they would rather identify now with the big swampy cesspool of traditional politics. So to me, they are no longer my intellectual peers.

Biden graduated 76th out of a class of 85, not "bottom of his class." There goes any further credibility of anything you might post from your undisclosed source.

No need to post further parts.

And if he'd graduated 9th out of a class of 85 then leftists would say and argue he graduated top of his class.

Yeah... kinda like arguing over the bigger half of a piece of cake.

FWIW, from Wikipedia in reference to Biden's high school years:

"Academically, Biden was a 'B' (above-average) student at Archmere, was considered a natural leader among his classmates, and was elected class president during his junior and senior years.[31][32] He graduated in 1961."
