And, not only is it musically enlightening and enjoying but it has always offered almost unlimited access to photographers. In many cases for me I had front row seats at the stage with my equipment to take hundreds of shots.
I only attended 3 days and have these as my better shots so far.
Local Sax Great Dave McMurray
Afro Arab Woman Rap
Caribbean Dance Troupe
Irish Flautist from the Prodigals
Punk Rocker Tribute to Iggy Pop
Little Miss Earth Day

A beautiful set of powerful images. Love the dancer! Outstanding control of the movement and light. Nice!

You can my shots were all from the first row looking up on all of the performers.
In some cases I thought I was a little too close and more of a telephoto would be better. But I thought, being in the first row isn't bad, at least no one would be in front of me. Wrong.
The concept of infringing on other people's space without proper seating doesn't seem to be in effect for a lot of people out there.

I can certainly second that! I've had more than a few experiences of being set up for something only to have someone just tromp right through it without even noticing they had done anything. I believe it's mostly due to ignorance rather than malicious intent but it still drives up my blood pressure.
Particularly irritating when the moment won't likely ever be repeated.
