"The Why Files" - interesting channel on YouTube. It walks a fine line between fact and ridiculous conspiracy theory. For example, did you know there has been a satellite orbiting earth for 13,000 years - observing us? It's called The Black Knight. https://www.space.com/what-is-the-black-knight.html

Or, the moon is hollow, and there is an alien spaceship inside. I'm sure he's not serious about some of his videos, but it is entertaining, especially when you realize that thousands of people believe this garbage.

Remember the TV show "The X Files"? This is "The Why Files." And his "WF?" suggests a popular expression. Also, the presence of his talking goldfish adds to the humorous approach. It's worth a look, if only to let you feel superior to the idiots who believe this stuff.

The "believers" seek this garbage out. It’s much like a religion for them and the purveyors become their priests. The knot that ties them to reality is being unraveled, making them easy targets for authoritarians and their propagandists.

If he renames the channel to "WTF Files", then he might get a larger audience. 😲

When I got to the third line - 'That was certainly the case when Mail Online (opens in new tab) published a story on Mar. 21, 2017' - I began to lose interest.

The crackpot ideas become more dangerous as more and more people decide that rather than trust scientists, they "can do their own research".

It's just a different ingredient of the same stew.

Mankind is still very superstitious...and will fall for almost anything.
Religious...you are superstitious.
Think about karma...you are superstitious.
Alien abduction...you are superstitious.
I'm not inclined to list the many thousands...

But it's all the same stew.

Well, that's your opinion.

Opinions have replaced science and facts in our current "culture." Doing their own research seems to involve looking on Facebook and other "infallible sources" of news.

I've seen many reasons not trust scientists as many have admitted to manipulating the data to fit their beliefs. How many times have they said this drug is safe only to find out down the road that it is not so safe or even deadly. Scientists are not unbiased truth seekers.

As he said, see who is paying for the research. The tobacco industry said cigarettes weren't bad for you. The oil companies said that putting lead into gas wasn't harmful. They paid scientists to back them up.
