I was lucky enough to go sailing last week on Canada's most famous sailing ship - Bluenose II. It's an exact replica of the original Bluenose right down to the wood species for the masts. It has 8 masts but only 4 were raised on our trip. Here's a few pictures taken on board.

Family members. Above board and any Over?

Bet listening to the call outs tingled the short hairs. Would love to see that ship at full press.

Please be free to add more views aboard and off board to this thread.

Great photos. I was on the Bluenose about 40 years ago, but that was probably the older version. Still a very nice experience.

The cameraman in your photo is definitely old school. The moustache, keds tennis shoes, twin lens reflex all kind of point to the 1950s to thru the 60s.

Nice set DebAnn. Looks like a fine old sailing vessel.

Both the original and replica Bluenose were/are schooners with TWO masts. Specifically the mainmast(the aft taller mast) and foremast (the shorter mast in front)
I'm not aware of any sail boat that had 8 masts. Perhaps you meant sails? Although in the attached photos i count only 7 sails
