In the past two weeks I have received ten emails supposedly from Norton titled "Security Alert" telling me my computer is in danger and my subscription needs to be renewed.

During the same time I have received nine emails from McAfee that is my final notice and that my account needs to be renewed.

However, I don't use either service, never have used McAfee and haven't used Norton in the past ten years.

Not only do the "From" addresses look suspicious, the "To" addresses are not either my name or email address, but a long series of letters and numbers.

The two I opened to check the above offered really "good deals" and all I had to do is "click" on the "links". Yeh, right!!!

Just thought I would mention a different, and continuing approach. Best be careful.

I get emails allegedly from McAfee every single day, telling me my computer will be in peril if I don’t renew it immediately. Like you, I’ve never used McAfee.

They figure if they send to enough people, they'll hit someone who uses it, and some of those will take the bait.

I always look at the senders e-mail address #1 and number #2 never click on a hyper link that takes you into their site... we used to have B of A customers get fisher mail all the time, only thing is that B of A doesn't send out e-mails to customers with hyper links.... you will get hacked.

The majority of the FROMs are spoofed. The only way to see what server it came from is to look at the header information.

hover the curser over the senders name. The address will pop up. in the case of McAfee,it should be something like McAfee.com. Anything else is spam. Spam will show something weird like nxx76x352etc

I receive the same, and receive e-mails supposedly from various banks that my account needs something. I delete them... tried to set e-mail to reject them but they constantly change their “from” e-mail address... just like the aggravating phone calls that keep changing phone numbers

I too receive emails supposedly from McAfee, which I have never used. I don't open them, move them directly into spam, but they just keep coming. Very annoying!
