Am I a Business?

This is weird. I wanted to order a small, cheap ukulele from Amazon. It would be sent by a dealer in England. Unfortunately, my address is considered a business address, and they don't ship to businesses. That's never happened to me.

A few years ago, I accepted an offer from Amazon for their business credit card, and I've been using that ever since. I've never had a problem with a delivery. As a matter of fact, I'm getting a delivery from England today. It was shipped two days ago. I'll have to have it shipped to a friend.

You have a "business" credit card, you are a business.....

(I have "consumer" credit cards.)

If you have an Amazon business credit card, then you must be listed as a business with them. Apparently no one cared in the past. (Why would this dealer in England care? That's another question.) Another question. Can you just have it shipped to someone else at another address? I often order gifts for others on Amazon and have them sent directly to the other parties. This is especially useful when I order from Amazon.UK or Amazon.de to send gifts to friends in England or Germany. It works out every time.

I thought since it was the same address that it would be rejected, so I tried a friend. Nope! My name gave it away. The solution - I had my son order it on his account. I get free $14.00 shipping from England.

I tried a friend, but it was still in my name, so that didn't work. My son ordered it, and the order went through.

Possibly something to do with import/export regulations and Customs???
It's not like mailing something from Florida to Oregon.

I've gotten several packages from England, as well as other countries. I suspect it's the policy of the company in England.

Let me re-word that. The shipping cost was listed as $14, but then I had $14 deducted. I don't know how they can ship anything from England to the USA for $14. My last delivery from England - another uke - was sent on 7/19, and I received it on 7/21, for $69. Not bad!
