The tip toe position of her right foot forces her whole leg into an angular presentation that, to me, looks uncomfortable, hard to maintain, and is at odds with the overall curviness of the lady. Again that's what I think. Certainly not gospel and maybe I'm the only one who thinks this. I appreciate the chance for discourse though.

Sure. It's 100% intentional, I am not sure I ever shoot models not 'en pointe' unless it's not possible. Always looks better than a relaxed foot (imo) and also of course makes legs and bum look better. But yeah, of course it's all subjective...what looks right to me I can totally see how could look odd to others.
