what to do with an over exposed shot

This almost went to the trash bin and may still find it's way there. The sky was a gray/blue, cloudless bright day
when I shot this and forgot to adjust for the bright sky.
Created a mask for the center and adjusted exposure, then added more exposure to the sky, background & petals, and made it dead center. Rules are meant to be broken.

OK, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and looking. Add comment if you wish. I love The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.

This is how sunflowers should be presented IMO - under a hot, white sun.

Wondering if you might consider a square crop? Some hate squares, but for me, a single flower or blossom looks good that way

Perhaps masking out the background. Replacing it with a cloudy sky, or some kind of textured background. For example a brick wall. Contrasting nature with man made.

Personally, I think the square crop looks better.

It would look much better with a deep blue sky for the bkg.

I support the square crop. It looks good. I just love the detail you got in the flower's seeds.

I had a severely overexposed picture of a hawk that I used a sketch app to just enhance the outlines and brought up the colors a bit in LrC.

OOC

Problem was the loss of petals integrity because of the over exposure. Didn't want to spend time masking.
Thanks for the comment and stopping by

Beautiful work on the hawk. There's always lemonade somewhere.

Thanks for the comment
