And some consider this a weed?!

Constructive criticism welcomed. I took this shot yesterday morning and edited in Nik Silver Efex. Am very excited to be back to thinking in black and white!

Wow, I love the contrast in this one. I like the way you have separated the subject flower from everything else.

Thanks so much, Jack!

The heavy lifting was done by Mother Nature In the early morning hours especially, I love to look for sunlit subjects with deep shadows behind. Also, the red filter in Nik darkened the green moss and leaves, while lightening the pale lavender/white flower even more.

In AZ growing up it was illegal to have morning glory in a pasture.

Love the back lighting and transparency of the flower and leaves.

Thank you all so much! I'm very pleased there is interest in this image.

Archi, why was it illegal? Is the plant poisonous to certain critters?

Nicely done; Linda. Your treatment of the midtones really added depth to the image.

Invasive and destructive to grass and crops.

It's not the flower, it's the tough vines. Will foul a combine in very short order.

Thanks Bob! Good to see you posting again. I have determined that it's harder to stay away from UHH than it is to go on a diet

Nicely done, Linda. Weeds make just as good an image as any other plant.
